Op een bloedhete augustusdag zochten we onze toevlucht in het bos vlak bij Veere. Zeeland staat normaal vooral bekend om open vlaktes, wind en eindeloze uitzichten, dus een stukje schaduw was meer dan welkom. Hier op de Schotsman, wat een zandplaat is, lopen twee wandelroutes van Staatsbosbeheer: de gele van 3,1 kilometer en de groene van 5,8 kilometer.
