Op een frisse zomeravond wandelden we een mooie, afwisselende route van 4,7 kilometer door drie historische buitenplaatsen bij Hilversum: Boekesteyn, Schaep en Burgh en Bantam. De wandeling start vanaf het bezoekerscentrum in \u2019s-Graveland. Het eerste stuk wandelden we met een open weide met veldbloemen aan de rechterhand en struiken waar vandaan een kleine karekiet kwetterde aan de linkerkant.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bij Boekesteyn wandelden we over brede lanen en slingerpaadjes, langs vijvers en statige bomen. \u201cBoeke\u201d blijkt trouwens Oud-Hollands voor beuk, en die naam klopt aardig, want we zagen er flink wat oude exemplaren staan. Hier hoorden we ook volop vogels: twee sperwers hielden een wedstrijd wie het meeste geluid maakte en we werden uitgelachen door wat groene spechten.<\/span><\/p>\n

Daarna kwamen we in Schaep en Burgh, waar het landschap opener werd en we door een meer parkachtige omgeving liepen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vervolgens wandelden we over landgoed Bantam, dat meteen een andere sfeer had met meer bos, wat hoogteverschillen en uiteindelijk veel water. Het laatste stuk liep helaas een stuk langs een best wel drukke weg. Na ongeveer anderhalf uur waren we weer terug bij de parkeerplaats van het bezoekerscentrum.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
