In Nationaal Park Zuid-Kennemerduinen ligt een heel speciaal gebied. Vlak bij IJmuiden kun je deze Heerenduinen in. Ik was al een paar keer langs deze plek gereden en was supernieuwsgierig naar dit deel van de Kennemerduinen. Ik had er dan ook heel veel zin in toen ik de auto uitstapte. Beetje jammer dat het regende\u2026<\/p>\n

<\/span>Al vrij snel wanneer je het bos inloopt, kom je langs een enorme omgewaaide beuk. Verderop liggen er nog veel meer. Stormen hebben de bomen omver getrokken. Je kan aan de ravage zien met hoeveel kracht dat gebeurd is. Het bos voelt hier wild en ruig en ik voelde me hier eigenlijk maar heel klein.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/span>In de Heerenduinen zijn duineiken te zien. Deze komen maar weinig voor. Je kan ze herkennen aan de grillige takken en omdat de paden hier maar smal zijn, kreeg ik het idee dat ik echt op ontdekkingstocht was in het Sneeuwwitje-bos. Als de dagen weer wat warmer worden, komen de wijngaardslakken uit de grond. Dit is een beschermde en zeldzame diersoort, maar hier zie je ze volop. Ze zijn echt enorm en ik zag ze overal, met hun mooie witgrijze huisjes.<\/p>\n

<\/span>De route gaat flink omhoog en omlaag, soms door mul zand, soms over aangelegde paden. Ook kom je nog ergens een bunker tegen, onderdeel van de Atlantikwall. Een bijzondere route, door een speciaal bos dat mij erg ge\u00efmponeerd heeft. Er is veel te zien, zeker als je je van tevoren een beetje ingelezen hebt (had ik niet, daar heb ik nu een beetje spijt van) over de bomen en de slakken en de Atlantikwall. Enige jammere is wel: de weg is eigenlijk altijd wel dichtbij, dus je hoort veel verkeer.<\/p>\n
