In Amerongen vind je een berg van 69 meter, de hoogste van de Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Hier overheen loopt een route van 3,4 kilometer: Over de Top. Parkeren deden wij bij TOP Amerongen, bij de sportvelden aan de Burgwal. Utrechts Landschap geeft als startpunt de Tabaksschuur aan, maar daar kun je niet parkeren. De TOP gaat langs de route die gemarkeerd is met rode paaltjes!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Al vrij snel maakten we wat hoogtemeters en zagen we het pad omhoog lopen. \u201cJeetje, gaan we \u00f3ver de Amerongse berg? Ik dacht erlangs!\u201d vroeg Violet. Ik herinnerde haar aan de naam van deze route en rustig aan slenterden we naar boven. Toen we de top hadden bereikt puften we even uit voordat we de route vervolgden. Ik herinnerde van de vorige keer dat ik deze route liep dat we een uitzichtpunt is die een meter of 50 van de route af ligt. We besloten even een kijkje te nemen en namen plaats op het bankje om van het uitzicht te genieten.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Verder liepen we afwisselend loof- en naaldbos. Het had die dag geregend, dus alles leek net wat groener dan normaal en het rook allemaal net wat frisser.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Richting het einde van de route kom je een gereconstrueerde grafheuvel tegen. Bijzonder om even bij stil te staan en het geeft wat context aan het landschap waar je doorheen loopt.<\/span><\/p>\n
