Het was een warme lentedag toen we de auto parkeerden bij Toeristisch Overstappunt Bakkeveen, bij natuurgebied It Mandefjild. Dit gebied met een mix van bos, heide en zandverstuivingen ligt ten noordoosten van Bakkeveen, precies op de grens van de provincies Drenthe en Friesland. We wilden eerst de wandeling Klein Rondje Bakkeveense Duinen van 3,5 kilometer doen, maar hadden weinig zin in geslenter in de felle zon. De route, aangegeven met blauwe bordjes, is maar 1,5 kilometer, maar het landschap is toch afwisselend. Al snel liepen we onder hoge bomen door, waar we blij mee waren want het voelde daardoor net een beetje koeler.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/span>Tussen de stukjes bos door liepen we langs open zandvlaktes, een beetje duinachtig, met ergens in het midden een eenzame boom, waarvan de wortels bloot zijn komen te liggen door de zandverstuivingen.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Voor de afwisseling bracht de route ons ook nog langs heide, die nu vooral erg groen was en waar we af en toe een vogeltje uit zagen fladderen. Deze wandeling was in korte tijd toch een klein avontuur. We waren blij dat we het rolstoelpad hadden geprobeerd, want we waren echt helemaal midden in de natuur. Echt heel fijn dat dit gebied voor iedereen op deze manier toegankelijk is!<\/span><\/p>\n
