Aan het eind van een benauwde zomerdag liepen wij de rode wandelroute, door het Munitiepark in Soesterberg. Dit is een route van 4,5 kilometer. Die loopt langs het Nationaal Militair Museum over de vliegbasis Soesterberg. Het was vrij laat in de avond toen wij de auto parkeerden en onze weg probeerden te vinden naar het startpunt van de route. Wat we op internet hadden gevonden als startpunt bleek alleen niet de plek te zijn waar de route ook echt begon. Die begint namelijk gewoon bij het museum.Dat is toch altijd wel een beetje een flauw begin van een wandeling. Maar desalniettemin begonnen wij met frisse moed aan de route.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Het museum bevindt zich op een hele grote open plek, waar wij werden getrakteerd op dramatische mooie wolken. Vervolgens stap je eigenlijk al vrij snel het bos in. En na een tijdje moet je opeens vrij steil omhoog lopen, want dan kom je uit bij een mooi uitzichtspunt. Vervolgens ga je met de trap naar beneden en ga je dieper het bos in. En vooral in het bos vind je veel militaire dingen die je kan bekijken. Zo zijn er een aantal munitieplekken die je kan zien en kwamen we langs een kerosineheuvel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/span>Het is een mooie route door een fijn bos, met veel beschutting. En het militaire aspect is natuurlijk ook wel heel interessant. Deze wandeling kan je bovendien goed combineren met een bezoek aan het museum. Deze route is zeker een aanrader als je het museum wilt bezoeken en nog wat tijd over hebt. Het enige gekke hier is wel dat je de hele tijd het gevoel hebt dat je illegaal rondloopt, omdat je natuurlijk over een militair terrein loopt. Daarnaast loop je af en toe ook een stukje over een fietspad. En dan was het bij ons niet zo heel druk, maar misschien is dat overdag anders.<\/span><\/p>\n
