Bij jachthaven Marnemoende in IJsselstein ligt een Toeristisch Opstappunt, waarvandaan verschillende routes lopen. De route hadden wij gevonden op routesinutrecht.nl die aangaven dat de wandeling gemarkeerd is met themaboeken, maar wij hebben deze niet gevonden. Gelukkig hadden we de GPX van tevoren gedownload en via een viewer op onze telefoon gevolgd. Dat ging prima, maar zonder GPS was het iets lastiger geweest om op het juiste pad te blijven \u2014 dus zeker een aanrader om die erbij te houden!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We begonnen de wandeling met een lang stuk over een recht pad tussen de uitgestrekte weilanden. Links en rechts zagen we slootjes, rietkragen en de open velden. Overal zagen we hazen en konijntjes rondspringen en in de lucht zweefde een paar roofvogels mee, op zoek naar hun avondmaaltje.<\/span><\/p>\n

Halverwege dook het pad een beetje verstopt een smal doorgangetje in, tussen een woonhuis en een grote heg. Daar liepen we letterlijk het groen in en kwamen ineens uit bij de oever van de Hollandsche IJssel. Vanaf dat punt volgden we een mooi stukje jaagpad langs het water, met weer uitzichten over huisjes afgewisseld met heide en de zon die langzaam in het water begon te zakken. Het avondlicht gaf het landschap een warme gloed en zorgde voor een bijna schilderachtig plaatje.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aan het einde van de route keerden we terug naar het beginpunt bij Marnemoende, waar je eventueel een drankje kunt doen op het terras aan het water of gewoon in het restaurantje.<\/span>

Het was een korte, maar fijne wandeling door een karakteristiek stukje Nederland. Omdat wij er op een frisse lenteavond waren, was het heel rustig, maar in de zomer zal het gebied wat drukker zijn met SUP’s en bootjes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
