Middenin de Kaapse Bossen bij Doorn, vind je Landgoed Ruiterberg. Ik liep deze route op een grauwe zondagmiddag, toen het best een beetje druk was. Gelukkig was er ruim voldoende plek op de parkeerplaats. De route start met een rondje om een soort dal heen, waar kinderen kunnen spelen. De eerste kilometer kijk je dus eigenlijk vooral naar beneden, maar daarna ga je omhoog het bos in. Het is een mooi bos met flink wat afwisselende bomen, maar helaas was het nog vrij vroeg in de lente en zagen de lange lanen en de kronkelpaadjes er nog een beetje kaal uit.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/span>Je loopt in deze ruime 5 kilometer rondom het landhuis, dat ooit werd gebouwd in 1917. Een best riskant moment natuurlijk om een groot landgoed te bouwen. Maar uiteindelijk werd het tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog door de geallieerden gebombardeerd, omdat er gedacht werd dat de archieven van de Duitse geheime dienst er waren opgeslagen. Inmiddels is het weer opgebouwd in de originele stijl en wordt het weer bewoond (dus je kan er helaas niet in).

Het leuke aan deze route is dat er af en toe sprake is van hoogteverschil, dat is natuurlijk best bijzonder in Nederland. Ook geeft de route wel wat afwisseling, je gaat van bos naar hei soms loop je zomaar opeens een soort kerstbomenpad in. Helaas wel een beetje druk en sommige lanen zijn niet zo spannend. <\/p>\n
