Iets ten oosten van Utrecht wordt het landschap verstoord door een aantal betonnen bunkers, die uit de grond steken. Staatsbosbeheer heeft hier een route uitgestippeld, eentje die Fort Vechten met Fort Rhijnauwen verbindt. We liepen deze route aan het eind van een zonnige dag. We parkeerden op een van de parkeerplaatsen, maar raakten een beetje in de war over de route. Deze stond namelijk niet aangegeven, omdat je hem via een app zou moeten lopen. Daarnaast zou je hier zelfs een speurtocht kunnen doen met verstopte kistjes die je open moest maken. Wij hadden dit in het begin niet helemaal door en hadden te veel zin om gewoon een stukje te wandelen om het uit te zoeken. We volgden het pad op de gok en dat ging gelukkig best ok\u00e9! <\/span>Toen het kwartje eenmaal viel en we de app hadden gedownload, volgden we het kaartje hier op. Veel handiger dan maar wat gokken natuurlijk.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Het eerste stuk van de wandeling liep door open weilanden langs de bunkers. Grote grasvelden met rare betonnen constructies, onderdeel van de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. Het waren er eigenlijk maar een paar, voordat we de brug over de Kromme Rijn al over gingen en het beboste Amelisweerd uitkwamen. Een prachtig stukje natuurgebied, zeker omdat de zon door de bladeren heen druppelde. Een leuk rondje om te lopen, door weiland en bos, natuur en cultuur. Als je de boel aan de praat krijgt, is de speurtocht vast heel leuk om te doen met kinderen rondom de bunkers. Het bos is hier prachtig, net als de uitzichten over de Kromme Rijn. Ook de horeca langs de route is heel goed, maar dat betekent ook dat het heel druk kan zijn in de avonden en weekenden.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.24.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]
