Aan de rand van Leusden zit een nogal nieuw natuurgebied, de Schammer. Dit was ooit agrarisch gebied, maar is inmiddels een ruim grasland met verschillende watertjes en heel veel vogels. Er lopen drie verschillende wandelroutes door dit stukje nieuwe natuur, van 2,5 tot 5 kilometer. Het was even puzzelen om het begin van de route te vinden. Utrechts Landschap adviseert om bij de hockeyvelden aan de Schammersteeg te parkeren, maar waar de route vanaf daar begint, was voor ons een raadsel. Met het PDF-je kwamen we er niet helemaal uit, dus liepen we maar wat tot we toevallig een juiste routemarker tegenkwamen.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/span>We liepen door prachtig hoog grasland door, terwijl de zon langzaam onderging. De open velden gaven prachtig uitzicht en sommige paadjes hadden wat bomenrijen waardoor je hele mooie doorkijkjes had. Op een bepaald punt werden we een stuk omgeleid vanwege het broedseizoen. Let er dus op dat je deze wandeling dus niet in die periode loopt, want wij raakten weer eens hopeloos verdwaald.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/span>De route loopt ook vrij dicht langs een vogelkijkscherm. Je kunt deze terugvinden op het kaartje van Utrechts Landschap en is zeker de extra honderd meter waard. Er staat een (vrij basic) verrekijker maar het scherm staat heel strategisch aan het water en erop staan ook nog eens schilderingen van de Blauwborst en de ijsvogel, die hier blijkbaar ook voorkomt. De Blauwborstroute is een korte maar leuke route, vol open velden en doorkijkjes. De route staat niet heel duidelijk aangegeven, maar met het online kaartje kom je een heel eind. Het is hoe dan ook een mooi gebiedje, dus het is ook niet heel om een beetje verdwaald te raken. Het is wel jammer dat het gebied aan de snelweg ligt en je die in meer en mindere mate de hele tijd op de achtergrond kan horen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.24.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]
