Vlak bij de Hollandse IJssel bevindt zich een gevarieerd bos, deels oud, deels jong, deels voedselbos en ooit een eendenkooi. Maar het bijzondere van deze route is dat je er van alles kan leren over bomen, door de QR-codes langs de route te scannen.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span>We parkeerden de auto aan de IJsseldijk op de parkeerplek en we werden direct begroet door een buizerd die op een boom op nog geen drie meter afstand landde. Geen verkeerd begin! Langs de route stonden elke (paar) honderd meter paaltjes met QR-codes. De websites die daaraan gekoppeld zijn, vertellen je van alles over de rol van bomen in het bos, de samenstelling, de jaarringen, hoe ze impact hebben op je gezondheid en waarom sommige bomen gekapt worden. Het grappigste feitje vond ik wel dat \u00e9\u00e9n boom gemiddeld effici\u00ebnter de omgeving koelt dan een airco: het kan zomaar tien graden schelen!<\/span>

<\/span>De eerste kilometer liepen we door een bos vol met hele hoge bomen en de lichtinval was er prachtig. Daarna kwamen we uit bij weilanden met een weids uitzicht. We volgden een sloot en wisselden kleine stukjes bos zich af met open plekken. Op die open plekken zagen we wat wildlife: weer een buizerd (of dezelfde), wat andere vogels en een haas (en een huiskat, maar die mocht ik van Josien niet meetellen). Uiteindelijk kwamen we weer uit in het stukje waar we begonnen.\u00a0<\/span>

Het was een klein maar krachtig rondje, erg leerzaam en gelukkig lekker verkoelend. Het IJsselsteinse Bos is een leuk, niet al te bijzonder bos, maar de achtergrondinfo die je krijgt is echt heel erg interessant! Maar na het zoveelste QR-paaltje, waren we er wel een beetje klaar mee.
