Misschien weet je het nog wel, die dag in juni 2021 dat een valwind grote delen van Leersum verwoestte. De storm richtte veel schade aan, een groot deel van de bomen in het bos in Breeveen werd omgeblazen. De bomen zijn sindsdien blijven liggen en Utrechts Landschap heeft een vlonderpad van zo\u2019n 800 meter lang gebouwd dat je over het getroffen gebied leidt. Toen we de wandeling op het internet hadden gevonden waren we direct nieuwsgierig en deden deze route op een avond in mei. We begonnen de wandeling vanaf de parkeerplaats aan de Utrechtse Baan, waar duidelijk met bordjes staat aangegeven waar het startpunt van het Stormpad is. Een trap bracht ons naar het 1,5 meter hoge vlonderpad, waar al aan het begin een plateau was waar je naar het toegetakelde bos kon kijken. Hier staat een standaard waar je je telefoon in kan plaatsen en een foto kan maken. De foto kun je opsturen en er wordt dan toegevoegd aan een <\/span>timelapse<\/span><\/a>. Wij pakten deze kans natuurlijk ook, maakten een foto en stuurden deze op!<\/span><\/p>\n

Vervolgens bracht het vlonderpad ons door het gebied. Links en rechts lagen dode takken en omgevallen bomen, de ravage was nog goed zichtbaar. We spotten zwarte specht\u00a0<\/span>in een van de getroffen bomen die zich staande heeft weten te houden. We vonden het erg indrukwekkend om te zien hoe het bos zich op eigen houtje herstelt en de dieren opnieuw een plek terugvinden.<\/p>\n

We naderden het einde van het vlonderpad, dat ons met een trappetje weer naar beneden bracht. Vanaf daar besloten we om wandelroute Breeveen<\/a> van 2,5 kilometer te volgen. Nadat we deze route hadden voldaan, liepen we weer terug over het vlonderpad van het Stormpad en zagen we het gebied van de andere kant. Nog steeds onder de indruk verlieten we het vlonderpad en bereikten het einde van de wandeling.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Het is bijzonder om te zien hoe de natuur zich herstelt na een storm, maar het is wel een ietwat korte route om speciaal voor naar Leersum te rijden. Het is zeker aan te raden om het gebied te bezoeken als je in de buurt van Utrecht bent en natuurlijk de moeite waard om te combineren met wandelroute Breeveen! <\/span><\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.24.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]
