In Hattem loopt de route \u201cVolk en Vorst\u201d, dit is onderdeel van een intitiatief van de NPO. Aan de hand van de app Podwalks: Het Verhaal van Nederland, kun je verschillende wandelingen lopen onder begeleiding van Daan Schuurmans, die je van alles vertelt over de geschiedenis van Nederland. Je installeert de gratis app op je telefoon en loopt dan naar het beginpunt van de wandeling. Wanneer de app ziet dat je op de juiste plek staat, begint Daan te vertellen. Je kunt de kaart in de app gebruiken, maar onderweg zegt hij welke kant je op moet en spoort hij je aan: \u201cLoop je mee? We startten op de parkeerplaats in Hattem, aan het begin daarvan vind je een paaltje waarop het beginpunt van de route van Het Verhaal van Nederland wordt aangegeven. Vanaf daar loop je het Landgoed Molecaten op. Eerst loop je om een groot weiland heen, waarop paarden staan te grazen. Je loopt aan de rand van het bos, terwijl Daan vertelt over het landhuis van de familie Heeckeren van Molecaten. Vanaf daar wordt het bruggetje geslagen naar het conflict van de Patriotten versus de Prinsgezinden in de 18e eeuw. Vervolgens loop je een stukje door de woonwijken van Hattem, voordat je uitkomt in het historische centrum. In de tussentijd hoor je het verhaal van Herman Willem Daendels, \u00e9\u00e9n van de belangrijkste figuren van Hattem en \u00e9\u00e9n van de prominentste patriotten van deze tijd. Je leert van alles over hem, prins Willem de Vijfde en de opkomst van de Bataafse Republiek tegen de achtergrond van historisch Hattem.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Het is echt heel erg leuk om op zo\u2019n manier kennis te maken met een gebied en een stad. Een stukje geschiedenis geeft zo\u2019n wandeling echt veel diepgang. We hebben op geen enkel moment problemen gehad met de app, alles werkte perfect en zit heel goed in elkaar. Deze wandeling is misschien niet zo geschikt om rustig de natuur op te zoeken of je mindfulness te oefenen, maar als een op zichzelf staande activiteit is zo\u2019n soort route leuk om je zaterdag of zondag mee te vullen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.24.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]
