Aan de Woeste Hoefweg in Hoenderloo bevindt zich een parkeerplek waarvandaan twee routes over de Veluwe beginnen. De Varennaroute van 6 km en de Varennaroute van 2 km, ook wel de Woeste Hoefroute genoemd. De routes hebben deze naam omdat ze door Landgoed Varenna lopen. Om de route, uitgezet door Staatsbosbeheer, te lopen, kun je de gele (2 km) of de groene (6 km) bordjes volgen. <\/p>\n

<\/b>Je loopt direct vanaf de parkeerplaats het gebied in. Het is er licht heuvelachtig en soms kun je over dwarsgelegen paden heel ver het bos in kijken. De zandgrond is erg geschikt voor dennenbomen, die dan ook heel erg hoog groeien. Op de Veluwe lopen erg veel dieren rond, zoals het edelhert, het wilde zwijn en veel verschillende vogels. Daarnaast lopen er zelfs wolven rond, maar geen zorgen. De kans dat je die tegenkomt is echt bijzonder klein. Wij hebben geen dieren gezien, maar dat was misschien ook omdat we hem midden op de dag hebben gelopen. De kans om iets te spotten is natuurlijk veel groter wanneer je dit aan het begin of aan het eind van de dag doet. Let op: je mag hier alleen wandelen na zonsopgang en voor zonsondergang. <\/span><\/p>\n

Wandelen over de Veluwe is altijd een succes. Het is er prachtig, ongeacht het weer, maar je hebt er eigenlijk maar twee dingen: het bos en de heide. Deze routes lopen beide uitsluitend door het bos, waardoor er eigenlijk maar weinig variatie is. Het is allemaal mooi, maar er zijn dus ook geen specifieke hoogte- (of diepte-) punten. Soms hoor je wel wat auto\u2019s in de verte. Een ideale wandeling om je onder te dompelen in het bos en er even helemaal \u2018uit\u2019 te zijn.<\/p>\n
